Best AI marketing tools for gyms and studios (2026), ranked by real use

Updated October 20, 2026 · 11 sourced examples · no paid placement

Short answer: These are real examples, not a test or a paid ranking. Claude shows up most: Pav Grewal uses it to research member avatars, write ad variants and launch Meta ads, Joel Holland used it to learn Meta lead ads, Graciano Rubio of CrossFit ValleyView pulls themed clips from a master transcript of member interview videos, and Micha Hershman of Forge Krav Maga built reel templates and a voice-style document with it. Three CrossFit owners quoted in Morning Chalk Up, Victor Zamudio, Aimee Moller and Brian Strump, use ChatGPT to start or polish emails, blog posts and social posts. Ron Hansen of CrossFit EMC uploads the week’s workouts to a Gemini Gem that writes the week’s social posts. Zathan Simpson makes flyer backgrounds with Adobe Express, which isn’t in our tool catalog, and the tools behind Dave Rafuse’s morning brief and Grewal’s cancellation model aren’t named.

Gym owners here use AI mostly to write and to run ads. Pav Grewal of BFT Tysons says Claude now builds and launches his Meta ads, and an ad that took 45 minutes to an hour to launch takes about five minutes. Joel Holland of 902 Athletics says the first lead campaign he built while learning with Claude brought about 84 leads in 10 days (both self-reported). All 11 stories are told by the owners themselves or reported by the press; none is a vendor case study.

This page is built from 11 sourced examples (7 owner-told, 4 press, 0 vendor) and the 9 tools they name.

How this is ranked: by the number of owner-told and press stories that name the tool, then by total stories. Vendor case studies count, but lower. We don't test-drive or score tools, and affiliate links never affect the order. Affiliate disclosure.

Can AI run Facebook and Instagram ads for a gym?

Two owners on the Behind Gym Doors podcast (run by GSD, a gym-coaching group they belong to) say it can do much of the work. Pav Grewal’s gym no longer uses an ad agency. Working with Claude, he defined three target member avatars, had the AI research each one’s pain points, wants and fears, and uses that research for every campaign’s hooks, headlines and copy. The AI makes five to ten versions of each static ad to test at once, Claude connects to Meta’s ad platform to launch ads and check results, and a weekly ‘marketing analyst’ AI sends him recommendations in Slack. He says launching an ad went from 45 minutes to an hour down to about five minutes; he shared no cost-per-lead or sign-up figures, and once pushed back on an ‘underperforming’ flag with context the data didn’t show. Joel Holland used Claude to learn Meta campaign setup and build his first lead campaign for a free two-week CrossFit intro, starting at $15 a day and raising the budget in 15 to 20% steps. He reports about 84 leads in 10 days at roughly $3 a lead and about 38 sign-ups from the CrossFit intro ad, and he texted each lead from his own phone (self-reported).

How do gym owners use ChatGPT or Gemini for emails, blogs and social posts?

In Morning Chalk Up, Victor Zamudio of South Gate CrossFit says ChatGPT polishes his social posts, newsletters and emails and writes workout explanations from an outline he gives it, saving him “at least eight hours per week”; he adds that generic instructions to write from scratch miss the mark. Aimee Moller of Swift River CrossFit treats ChatGPT’s output as “a jumping off point” that she rewrites in her own voice, and has it turn whiteboard announcements into short bullet points. Brian Strump of CrossFit Steele Creek uses it for a quick framework when he knows what he wants to say in an email or blog post but can’t get started, and the article says it gives him back a handful of hours each month. On a PushPress webinar, Ron Hansen of CrossFit EMC described a Gemini Gem built from his answers when he had Gemini interview him about who he serves and the phrases he doesn’t use: he uploads the week’s workouts, it writes the posts and hashtags and suggests four images per post from his Google Drive or Google Photos, and he picks the images himself.

Can AI help make gym videos and graphics?

Graciano Rubio of CrossFit ValleyView keeps one master transcript of every member interview the gym has filmed, made with Claude. For Father’s Day he asked it to find every time a man talks about kids and output those clips, and he says “it’s done 98% of the work.” He says the video did poorly on reach, but a member’s friend who had been considering CrossFit for about a year came in and mentioned it. Micha Hershman writes on his school’s blog that Claude helped him build a template for the look and on-screen text of his reels and walks him through editing software, and that posters go through a loop of mockup, review and markup inside his brand system; he says drafts now come back “needing a pass instead of a rewrite.” Per CNET, Zathan Simpson of Blackstone River CrossFit uses Adobe Express’s Generate Image for on-brand flyer and Instagram backgrounds; prompts with “CrossFit” in them gave exaggerated muscle definition, so words like “beginners” worked better.
