Let patients find frames with an AI frame-matching app on your website and in reminder texts, then stock what they like
Karim Sayani, OD, co-founder of Go To Optical and Eye Care, a multi-location optometry practice in the Dallas area, in Review of Optometric Business (a chapter of its sponsored AI-adoption guide)
Muse, an AI frame-matching app, reads a patient's face and has them swipe through frames he actually carries, recommending shape, width, material and color. He put a "Find My Frames" section on the practice homepage and added a text to his Weave appointment-reminder flow inviting patients to try it before they come in. He uses its dashboard of most-loved and most-skipped frames to decide what to stock.
The article doesn't give Muse's or Weave's price (not checked). He chose Muse's paid tier for the inventory link.

The problem
He wanted patients to shop frames before the visit and wanted better data on what to stock.
What happened
"Nearly two-thirds of the shoppers who engage leave their contact information," and in a couple of weeks patients liked nearly 1,000 frames across more than 100 sessions. Setup took a few hours. He's still testing the text wording because people often ignore texts with links. Self-reported.

How to set it up yourself
- What Go To Optical used: Muse's paid tier, connected to the practice's frame inventory, plus a link in its Weave appointment reminders.
- If you try a frame-matching app, ask the vendor whether it matches only against frames you carry and whether it hides model numbers, the two features Sayani says matter to him.
- Add the app to your homepage as its own section, and add one line with the link to your appointment-reminder text. Try two versions of the wording, since he says many patients ignore links.
- Once a month, export the most-liked and most-skipped frames and use the prompt below in ChatGPT or Claude to turn it into a buying list for your rep.
- Write down how many sessions and contact details you get in the first month, so you can judge it on your own numbers.
