Have Claude help you build a multi-store dashboard for calls and leads, and find out whether you have a marketing problem or a phone problem
Maria Treat, COO and head of marketing at Prestige Auto Tech, a European auto repair business with five South Florida locations, interviewed in AutoPulse (a free magazine run as a community initiative by shop-software company GaragePlug)
With no coding background, she built a management dashboard "by explaining the idea to Claude and working through it." It brings calls, leads and performance for all five stores into one place, with benchmarks set per location. The team also uses AI to transcribe meetings, help write texts to customers, review reports and the website for mistakes, and track how quickly the front desk responds to new leads.

The problem
With five stores, managers would call and say "It feels like calls are down today," and decisions were made on feel. As head of marketing she also needed to know whether money going out was coming back in.
What happened
The dashboard showed the shop misses only about 3% of calls during business hours, but closer to 8% once after-hours calls are counted, so the marketing was working and the gap was calls nobody was there to answer. "AI did not magically fix that problem for me. What it helped me do was see the problem clearly enough to make a better decision." She says the first version wasn't perfect and it took time to get working. In her own words, in a magazine published by a software vendor; the interview isn't about that vendor's product.

How to set it up yourself
- What Prestige Auto Tech did: the COO described the dashboard she wanted to Claude and built it step by step, pulling calls, leads and performance for five stores into one view with a benchmark per store.
- Start with one question you argue about by feel, such as "are calls down?", and export the data that answers it: your phone system's call log, including after-hours calls, and your lead list.
- Paste a sample into Claude with the prompt below and ask it to help you build a simple dashboard (a spreadsheet or single web page) that shows answered and missed calls by store, by hour and in or out of business hours.
- Check its numbers against a week you already know before anyone uses it, then set a separate target for each location.
- Each month, give Claude the report and ask "What stands out?", her suggestion, and decide what to change yourself.
