Have field techs talk through a job on site and get a plain-language homeowner report and an office report before they leave
Luis Galarza and Laura Gutiérrez, founders of SoFlo Solar, a small solar service company in Florida, in an Anthropic-sponsored Axios Q&A
Gutiérrez says they built a process with Claude where site technicians talk and verbally walk through what they're seeing and what the issues are. It produces a small plain-language report for the homeowner and, by the time the tech is off the roof, a full report for the office, which then works out the cost of the job and the follow-up actions. She says the tool also helps the multilingual team stay on the same page.

The problem
Galarza says field data used to be "a disaster": technicians texted him solar panel photos and he had to dig through his text messages to submit warranty claims. The techs also speak English, Spanish or Portuguese, so "sometimes things can get lost in translation."
What happened
"By the time they're off the roof and have said goodbye to the customer, there's a full-blown report that they can bring back to us." Gutiérrez says it has made communication between the owners, techs and homeowners much more fluid. No figures were given. This is a sponsored piece paid for by Anthropic, which makes Claude.

How to set it up yourself
- What SoFlo Solar does: per the Axios Q&A, technicians talk through what they see on site, and a process built with Claude turns that into a plain-language report for the homeowner and a full report for the office. The source doesn't describe how it's wired, so the steps below are our DIY build.
- Create a Claude Project called "Site reports" and paste the prompt below into the project instructions, with your report headings and the warranty-claim details you always need.
- On site, the tech opens the Claude app in that project, uses voice dictation to describe the system, the problem and what they did (in English, Spanish or Portuguese), and attaches photos.
- The tech reads the homeowner summary before sharing it; the office checks the full report, prices the job and files any warranty claim from it.
Copy-paste prompt
You turn a field technician's spoken notes and photos into two reports. The tech may speak {LANGUAGES}; write both reports in {OFFICE LANGUAGE} and the homeowner report also in {HOMEOWNER LANGUAGE} if asked. Report 1, for the homeowner: 5 sentences or fewer, plain language, what we found, what we did, what happens next. No prices unless the tech stated one. Report 2, for the office: site address, equipment make/model/serial (from photos or notes), issues found, work done, parts needed, photos referenced, follow-up actions and warranty-claim details. Mark anything the tech didn't say as [MISSING]; never guess serial numbers or causes. One short email a day: 3 new AI use cases from real small businesses, each with its source and setup steps, plus a Tool of the Day.
