The problem
Writing a firm follow-up meant first hunting down the earlier emails, often split across threads where someone didn't reply-all or changed the subject line. That alone took her 30 minutes to an hour.
What happened
She says the draft is in her drafts about 30 seconds later and takes about 30 seconds to edit, against 30 minutes to an hour before just to find the emails. She describes it as adding admin headcount without adding payroll, the salon's biggest expense. Self-reported.

How to set it up yourself
- What Sam Brocato Salon uses: a ChatGPT assistant ('Quinn') with Gmail connected. It reviews the recent emails with one person and drafts the follow-up into Gmail drafts; she edits and sends it.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings > Plugins, select Gmail, choose Install plugin or Connect, and sign in with the salon's Google account. Keep its permission on Always ask, so ChatGPT asks before it takes an action in Gmail.
- In a chat, type @Gmail (or select + and choose Gmail) and use the prompt below with the person's name. Check the dates, amounts and what was agreed against the thread before you send the draft from Gmail.
- To catch follow-ups you'd forget, ask ChatGPT to make a scheduled task: "every weekday at 8 AM, list emails I sent that haven't had a reply in 3 days". She said she planned to set up the same daily reminder.
