The problem

Appraisal descriptions need to be written consistently, and staff need clear rules about what they can put into AI tools.

What happened

The Claude agents are a work in progress ("we are working with Claude, creating agents"), so no results or figures are given. The guidelines are meant to make sure the company's information "stays secure and stays 'our information.'"

How to set it up yourself

  1. What Lux Bond & Green does: ChatGPT for text edits and images; Claude agents in progress for consistent appraisal descriptions; written staff rules for what goes into which AI tool. The steps below are our DIY version of the appraisal part; the source doesn't describe how their agents are built.
  2. Write your AI rules first: which tools staff may use, and what never goes in (customer names, addresses, appraised values tied to a person, safe and security details). Share it with every store.
  3. In Claude, create a Project called "Appraisal descriptions", add your house style guide and five approved appraisal descriptions as project knowledge, and paste the prompt below into the project instructions.
  4. For each item, paste the gemologist's notes (no customer details) and have the appraiser compare Claude's draft against the item and the grading report before signing; never let it fill in measurements, grades or values that aren't in the notes.

Copy-paste prompt

You write appraisal descriptions for {STORE NAME} in our house style (examples are in the project). From the appraiser's notes below, write the item description in the same order and format as the examples: item type, metal and purity, maker or markings, center stone, side stones, measurements, condition. Notes: {APPRAISER NOTES}. Use only facts in the notes; if a field is missing, write [MISSING: field] instead of guessing. Do not include any value, customer name or address.
