Let your store's AI flag reorders, forecast with Gemini in Google Sheets, and have your email tool draft low-stock campaigns
Steffy Lee Simms, founder of Guava Jammies, an eco-conscious children's clothing brand she runs on her own, in Business Insider
She relies largely on Shopify's built-in AI tools, which show product performance, tell her when it's time to reorder and suggest products worth scaling. She uses Gemini in Google Sheets to suggest custom tables and formulas for her decisions, and places specific order quantities based on the forecasts. Her email tool, Klaviyo, uses her Shopify inventory data to suggest campaigns for the products she has in stock, which she finds especially useful for items with only a few left.

The problem
Managing inventory alone meant building her own spreadsheets, deciding which metrics mattered and crunching numbers to decide what to buy and when; all those small decisions became a bottleneck, and items with only a few pieces left were hard to sell.
What happened
Self-reported: she says forecasting has made her more efficient in communicating with her manufacturer and helped reduce textile waste, and that she moves inventory faster: "What's better than logging into your email management system and seeing three campaigns already made based on your current inventory?" She says the lighter mental load gave her room to plan a women's wear line. No sales or savings figures are given.

How to set it up yourself
- What Guava Jammies does: Shopify's built-in AI flags reorders and best sellers, Gemini in Google Sheets helps build the forecasting tables and formulas, and Klaviyo suggests email campaigns from what's in stock; she decides the order quantities and which campaigns go out.
- Export 12 months of sales by product (units per month) and current stock from your store into Google Sheets.
- Open Gemini in Google Sheets (the Gemini button in the side panel; it needs a Google plan with Gemini) and paste the prompt below to build a reorder table. Check a few rows by hand before you trust the formulas.
- Turn the table into a purchase order you review yourself, then list the items with only a few pieces left and draft one email campaign for them (Klaviyo's AI can suggest it if you use Klaviyo); read it before it's sent.
Copy-paste prompt
This sheet has monthly unit sales by product for the last 12 months (columns {COLUMNS}) and current stock in column {COLUMN}. Add columns for: average monthly sales over the last 3 months, months of stock left, and a suggested reorder quantity to cover {MONTHS} months plus a {X}% safety buffer, rounded to the manufacturer's minimum of {MOQ}. Use formulas, not typed numbers, and explain each formula in one line. Flag products with fewer than {N} units left as 'low stock' and products with no sales in 90 days as 'slow'.We set up one AI automation in your tools, live within 48 hours of getting access, for $197.
