Create AI product photo backgrounds for 20-plus candles with Square Photo Studio
Carissa Smith, owner of Fuddy Duddy Co., a candle and wax melt business, on Square's blog
She used Square Photo Studio, an AI-powered app: take or upload a photo, remove the background with one click, select keywords for the background you want, and AI generates it. Her Higher Ground candle (coffee and cinnamon donut notes) got a background of coffee beans; Harvest Moon (apple, pine, walnut) got autumn leaves and apples. She says "It's fun to play around with the different keywords."

The problem
The farmer's market where she sold was closing for the winter, and she wanted an online store so customers could buy year-round. She needed product photos, and a full product photoshoot can be expensive and take days.
What happened
Per Square, instead of spending hours or days setting up and editing photos of her 20-plus products, she finished in much less time. Square also says a chatbot (not named) helped her get the descriptions written, and that the time saved meant her site was up and making sales sooner. No figures are given. This is Square's own blog about its own app.

How to set it up yourself
- What Fuddy Duddy Co. does: Carissa Smith used Square Photo Studio to remove the backgrounds from her candle photos and generate new ones from keywords, such as coffee beans for her coffee-scented candle, for 20-plus products. A chatbot helped her write the descriptions.
- Take a clear, well-lit photo of each product on a plain surface. Open Square Photo Studio, upload or take the photo, and remove the background.
- Pick background keywords that match each product's scent or theme, try a few versions, and keep the one that looks most like a real setting.
- For descriptions, give ChatGPT each product's real name, scent notes, size and price using the prompt below. Check every detail before you publish.
